SUSTAINABILITY AND RESPONSIBLE INNOVATION
Profilitec S.p.A. promotes a sustainability-focused vision through concrete investments in energy efficiency,
the use of renewable energy sources, and the development of certified solutions designed to reduce environmental impact.
Over the years, the company has thus undertaken a journey aimed at integrating sustainability into its production processes and products,
with the goal of contributing to more responsible and mindful growth.
ENERGY FROM RENEWABLE SOURCES
Among the key initiatives implemented is the installation of a solar photovoltaic power plant designed to produce energy from solar sources, which is intended to support a large portion of the company's operations.
The system consists of 1,000 photovoltaic modules, with a total installed capacity of 550 kWh and an estimated annual output of 620,000 kWh of renewable energy.
By using the energy generated by the plant, Profilitec helps reduce emissions associated with production processes, preventing the annual emission of 150 metric tons of CO₂ and resulting in an estimated savings of 220 grams of fuel oil for every kWh produced.
Investing in renewable energy is a concrete choice aimed at reducing environmental impact and optimizing energy efficiency within the company.
EPD Certification for the UPTEC System
Our commitment to sustainability is also reflected in our product development. The UPTEC system has earned EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) certification, a verified environmental declaration that transparently communicates the product’s environmental performance throughout its entire life cycle. The EPD certification is an internationally recognized standard and is based on an analysis compliant with ISO 14025 and EN 15804:2012+A2:2019; this certification takes into account various environmental parameters such as resource consumption, emissions, transportation, use, and end-of-life of the product. Through this initiative, Profilitec reaffirms its commitment to offering solutions that are not only technically high-performing but also focused on sustainability and environmental transparency. The EPD certification for the Uptec system, obtained in 2019, represents a further step toward more responsible and conscious design, in line with the needs of contemporary construction and environmental sustainability protocols.

The Uptec system reduces CO₂ equivalent emissions by more than 70% compared to traditional installation using adhesive on a lightweight screed.
