BALCOTEC: the new system for terraces and balconies

Profilitec launches BALCOTEC, a complete system for uncoupling the ceramic covering from the support of terraces and balconies, with anti-fracture, load resistance and waterproofing functions.

The base of the system is the FLOORTEC uncoupling membrane, which guarantees secondary waterproofing, tension compensation, management of rising vapor and load resistance. This membrane can be laid directly on the screed as soon as it becomes walkable, without waiting for the usual curing period of at least 28 days.

To ensure correct secondary waterproofing of the terrace, the FOILTEC strip is required at the junction points and along the perimeter of FLOORTEC to be applied with the KOLLTEC quick-setting waterproof adhesive.

Where it is necessary to ensure correct drainage of rainwater, two different types of drain are available: a central drain with STC-DC steel grate and a perimeter drain STC-DP.

To complete the system, BORDERTEC perimeter profiles for balconies are available, which serve to preserve the edge of the tiles, to protect the screed from water infiltration and to prevent water from running from the edge of the tile and then entering the glue layer and, from there, into the screed.

Profilitec also offers a wide range of COFLEX expansion joints, also suitable for vehicles, to protect ceramic flooring from tensions, typical of outdoor environments.
